Rural women to be provided with Swachh & Safe environment under PM Ujjwala Yojana: Assam CM

Dispur, June 19: The Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana was launched by Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal on Sunday and ceremonially distributed LPG connections to beneficiaries.

Addressing the launch, CM said Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana realises Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of empowering women in rural areas by providing a Swachh & safe environment.

Before the launch of Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, CM Sarbananda Sonowal laid the foundation stones of Majuli and Jengrai-Haldhibari roads in Majuli. He said Upgradation works of two roads will greatly boost connectivity”.

Previously on Saturday, the rank holders, distinction and star mark holder HSLC and HS candidates of Majuli district were felicitated by the CM at the Majuli College auditorium.

Attending the event he stated that “It fills me with great pride to see students of my constituency shine in all spheres”. He said that it is a matter of great pride to be born in the hallowed lands of Majuli and urged students to carry this glorious legacy across the world.

Urging the students to monitor implementation of Govt schemes said, “Majuli must be a model for Assam in intellectual & spiritual development”.

Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal on Sunday launched the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana besides prescriptively distributed LPG connections to recipients in Majuli.

Launching the PMUY, Sonowal said, “Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana realises PM Narendra Modi’s vision of empowering underprivileged women, especially in rural areas by providing a swachh and safe environment.”

Before the PMUY launching ceremony, CM Sarbananda Sonowal laid the foundation stones of Majuli and Jengrai-Haldhibari roads in Majuli, “The upgradation works of the two roads will greatly boost connectivity.”

Earlier on Saturday, the CM felicitated rank holders, distinction and star mark holder HSLC and HS candidates of Majuli district at the Majuli College auditorium.

In the event, the CM stated, “It fills me with great pride to see students of my constituency shine in all spheres.”

He further reminded that Majuli must be a model of spiritual and intellectual development for entire Assam. In this regard, he requested students to monitor all development schemes in the district and forge ahead with hard work.
