Paris, June 2: India's Rohan Bopanna and his Canadian partner Gabriela Dabrowski on Thursday advanced to second round in mixed doubles of French Open at Paris. The Indo-Candian pair of Bopanna and Gabriela Dabrowski registered an easy win over Australian pair of Jessica Moore and Matt Reid 6-0, 6-1 in the opening match at Roland Garros.
Rohan Bopanna along with his Canadian partner Gabriela Dabrowski started off the game very aggressively and kept the pressure on their opponents which led them to win easily. The seventh-seeded duo will next face New Zealand's Artem Sitak and Elina Svitolina of Ukraine in the second round.
In mixed double, Leander Paes and his Swiss partner Martina Hingis will clash with Slovenian- South African pair Katarina Srebotnik and Raven Klaasen in a second round. On the other side, in Men's double second round events, the pair of Bopanna and his Uruguayan partner Pablo Cuevas will take on American-Uzbek pair of Treat Huey and Denis Istomin on Friday.
Earlier, Rohan Bopanna along with his Uruguayan partner Pablo Cuevas defeated French duo of Mathias Bourgue and Paul-Henri Mathieu comfortably by 6-1, 6-1 in their opening round of Men’s doubles in French Open. Meanwhile, Leander Paes and his American partner defeated Radu Albot of Moldova and Hyeon Chung of South Korea by 7-6 (7-5), 4-6, 6-2 in the first round.
