Chennai, June 2 : Venting his anger over the proposed rate of GST the much awaited economic big band reform of Modi government, South Indian super star Kamal Haasan said that the present rate of GST will destroy the prospects of regional cinema. Registering his protest for GST rates Haasan said, “I will have to quit the industry if I am on the tax slab that is the highest”
Speaking to the media the veteran actor said, “We welcome GST and one India one tax but this rate will ruin regional cinema”. Comparing this decision East India Company Haasan demanded that government should review the rates of GST. He also urged finance minister not to put films like an essential service. He also suggested the rate of 12-15 per cent instead of 28 per cent.
