New Delhi, June 20: The present president of India, Pranab Mukherjee will be completing his 5 years term soon. For the upcoming Presidential poll, BJP has announced Ram Nath kovind as NDA presidential candidate. Following this decision, Ram Nath kovind has resigned today from Bihar governor post. President Pranab Mukherjee has accepted the resignation of Kovind.

A statement by press communiqué of Rashtrapati Bhawan announced, “The President of India is pleased to appoint Shri Keshari Nath Tripathi, Governor of West Bengal to discharge the functions of the Governor of Bihar, in addition to his own duties, until regular arrangements for the office of the Governor of Bihar is made.”

kovind is not a very famous name in Indian politics but his educational background fully supports his candidature.  The son of Uttar Pradesh has worked for downtrodden throughout his political career. Kovind is a former President of the BJP Dalit Morcha (1998-2002) and President of the All-India Koli Samaj.He worked for backward classes with the highest effort. He was elected to Rajya Sabha from the state of Uttar Pradesh during the two terms of 1994-2000 and 2000-2006.

Ramnath Kovind Represented India in the United Nations in New York and addressed United Nations General Assembly in October 2002. That does mean he already presented nation on an international forum.  Along with law, constitution he also knows how PMO works as he was Personal Secretary to Prime Minister Morarji Desai.
