"Lakhs of Yogis made Guinness record of largest yoga session"; Baba Ramdev, Amit Shah join the mood

Ahmedabad, May 11: "Lakhs of Yogis made a Guinness World record of largest yoga session of the world in Ahmedabad today". While the whole world in engaged in the celebration of ‘Yoga Day’, Gujarat made it special hosting the biggest International Yoga Day event in which at least 5 lakh participants performed Yoga with great enthusiasm making it a Guinness World Record of the largest yoga session. Yoga Guru Swami Ramdev, Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani and BJP President Amit Shah participated in the mega event.

 

During this event, saints and spiritual leaders from Art of Living, Arya Samaj, Bramhakumaris and other organization participated in this grand event. All the participants including Vijay Rupani, Amit Shah in the guidance of Swami Ramdev performed Yoga Asanas. This was the biggest Yoga Anushthan of the world till day.

Ahmedabad’s GMDC ground and AES grounds were combined which had 100 entry points, 100 giant LED screens. 10,000 volunteers from Patanjali Yogpeeth Gurukul ensuring smooth run of the event for the popular ancient physical and spiritual exercise. Officials of the Guinness World Records were on the grounds to notice the event.


Before performing Asanas, Yoga Guru Ramdev said, "This is the world`s biggest event. Anyone who has to study event management they should come to Modiji`s Gujarat and see how lakhs of people began assembling here from 3 a.m."

He said the event intended to create a world record for the highest number of people performing pranayam, yoga, and meditation at one location at a given time and another world record for the highest number of people at multiple locations performing yoga in sync. Ramdev also said every person entering the venue was barcoded to keep the count of gathering.

Swami Ramdev said, "Both Narendrabhai (Modi) and Amitbhai perform yoga every day without fail and everybody should follow them." Praising the portly Shah who was seated beside him on the stage, the yoga guru said while the BJP chief had gained "political weight, he had worked real hard to reduce his weight". "He has aamla and aloe vera juice every morning and does not eat anything after 7 p.m. He performs yoga every day," Ramdev added.

 

Meanwhile, Gujarat police also performed Yoga and advised others to do the same in order to have good health. Bhavnagar unit organized Yoga Session at vartej. Gujarat police, home guards and Director DFP, Gujarat also participated in this session. Specially-abled, Thalassemia patients and pregnant women perform Yoga in Vadodara.

On the other side at least 1000 women in Gujarat Practice Water Yoga to set World Record. Earlier on 19th June of this year, 275 people performed 108 Surya Namaskar together in Vadodara, in an attempt to make a world record.

The United Nations declared June 21 as International Day of Yoga in 2014 after Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, himself a yogi, called for the day to be declared as a global celebration of yoga, an ancient practice that originated in India more than 5,000 years ago, that has now become a worldwide phenomenon.

Notably, UNESCO earlier in December 2016 inscribed Yoga as the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity which was one of the greatest achievement for Yoga at an international platform. Swami Ramdev is amongst those Yog-gurus who has worked hard to present it globally and India’s consistent try made the whole world to accept and recognize it. Today, not only India but whole world practices Yoga and also praises it.
