Patna, June 21: For the upcoming Presidential poll, NDA announced Bihar governor’s name as the presidential election. Following the decision, Ram Nath Kovind resigned from Bihar governor resigned from his position. The Telegu Desam Party, Telangana Rashtra Samithi already extended their support on the very first day. Later Shiv Shena and People’s Democratic Party also announced their support for him. Walking in same line, Bihar’s ruling party JD(U) decides to back Ram Nath Kovind.
At Bihar CM Nitish kumar’s residence, a meeting of core committee was held. After the meeting, JD(U) legislator Ratnesh Sada told media the decision. JD(U) has stretched its undivided support to ex-Bihar Governor.
“All the leaders have decided that we will support Ram Nath Kovind for the post of president. He is Bihar’s first Governor who has been nominated for this post. We are very happy with this, it is the matter of Bihar’s development,” , Sada saifd to local media after meeting.
JD(U0 Chief informed RJD leader Lalu Prasad yadav his decision. Though RJD has not finalized anything yet, it is holding a meeting tomorrow. RJD spokesman said JD(U)’s decision have zero impression on them.
Before deciding, Nitish Kumar met important leaders individually to know their views. As kovind has a clean image , most of the leaders supported him.
