Lucknow, June 21: Today on this auspicious occasion of International Yoga Day 2017, Prime Minister Narendra Modi enthusiastically greeted everyone while celebrating World Yoga Day with more than thousand people in Lucknow. Interestingly despite of rain showers in the early morning, PM Modi compassionately continued to perform Yoga along with other people.
PM Narendra Modi led a gathering of over more than 1000 yoga enthusiasts at the Ramabai Ambedkar Maidan today. UP Governor Ram Naik and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Cabinet Ministers were present at the event.
Greeting thousands of people in Lucknow on the ocassion of 3rd World Yoga Day, PM Modi said that Yoga has become a part of many people’s lives. Yoga's popularity is high even outside India; and Yoga has connected the world with India. PM Modi said he is glad to see several Yoga institutes take shape over the last three years, and noted that the demand for Yoga teachers is increasing. In addition to fitness, wellness is important, the Prime Minister said, adding that Yoga is a medium to achieve wellness.
Urging everyone to make Yoga a part of their lives, the Prime Minister said that Yoga is about health assurance, and it is not even expensive to practice.
Commendable dedication towards Yoga, as PM Modi performed Yoga Asanas in the rain at Lucknow's Ambedkar Sabha Sthal along with thousands of people. Addressing a gathering on the occasion, the Prime Minister said yoga’s immense popularity outside India is high and has connected the world with India. “I am glad to see several yoga institutes take shape over the last three years. Demand for Yoga teachers is increasing,” he said at the event. With kickstarting International Yoga Day 2017 events are being held in 180 nations across the world today.
