Bhopal, June 21: Today the nation celebrates the third International Yoga Day, with this year's theme being 'Yoga for Harmony and Peace'. Madhya Pradesh is celebrating the International Yoga Day with a series of Mass Yoga programme throughout the state.
State-level Event began from 6.30 am at Lal Parade Ground, Bhopal in the presence of Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan. Mega Event was followed by general Yoga exercises from 7 am. The programme concludes at 8 am.
Chief Minister Shivraj extended best wishes and congratulated people of the state on World Yoga Day. He said Yoga connects Atma to Parmatma. Yoga keeps the body healthy and the heart happy. Chouhan appealed people to adopt Yoga in their daily routine.
He said that in our country the first happiness is a healthy body and this is possible only through Yoga. This fills the heart with determination and happiness. A monotonous life also fills with happiness. The whole world agrees to this. The mode founded thousands of years ago by Indian seers is preaching the path to peace to the humanity.
Also, the district-level Yoga programmes held in the presence of the Council of ministers at the district headquarters. For this ministers have been allotted districts. The mass yoga programme is being organized by the School Education Department.
International Yoga Day is being celebrated world-wide. From New Delhi to New York and Paris to Panama, Yoga Day celebrations are taking place as about 5,000 events are being held across 180 countries to mark the day.
