Taking Yoga the ancient Indian science of health & healing to the world, Union territories too celebrating International Yoga Day with great vigor. Like every year this year also the International Day of Yoga is being celebrated around the world, including in Indian union territories, in a big way.
In Pondicherry, Lieutenant Governor Kiran Bedi with others started practicing Yoga on early days to mark this 3rd International Yoga Day at Raj Palace, Puducherry. Expressing her views Lt. Governor said, “by spreading learning of Yoga our Prime Minister has gifted the world India's richest heritage for the benefit of humanity”. Expressing thanks to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Kiran Bedi said that PM has connected yoga with 9 Billion lives around the world means nine Billion Good Karmas. Day 2 of the Yoga session was specially arranged for women at Raj Palace informed Lt. Governor.
Kiran Bedi promised that this Yoga practice is not just to mark 3rd International Yoga Day but will continue practicing it every Sunday at Raj Palace.
In Dadra and Nagar Haveli on occasion of Yoga Day, Union state Home Affairs Minister Hansraj Ahir to performed Yoga at Silvassa brings Indian culture all around. Aero Pharma industry of Silvassa too celebrated International Yoga Day by gathering all together and performing Yoga at their workplace.
With the main event Celebrated in the auditorium of Govt. Girls’ Senior Secondary School of Port Blair, Andaman Island too marks 3rd International Yoga Day at 21 locations.
Yoga is not just exercise or asanas, Yoga means the union of the individual consciousness or soul with the Universal Consciousness or Spirit. This art is more than 10,000 years old. This way of living that aims towards 'a healthy mind in a healthy body'. 21st June celebrated as international yoga day.
