‘Great Wall of China’ showcased a great ‘Yoga’

Beijing, June 21: Taking Yoga the ancient Indian science of health & healing to the world, like other countries China too celebrates International Yoga Day with great vigor. Like every year this year also the International Day of Yoga is being celebrated around the world, including in Singapore, in a big way.

Yoga is India's blessing to the world that holds the guarantee of self-acknowledgment and as a science tries to keep the body, brain, and soul in concert. China too waked up early to mark International Yoga day.

Several thousand yoga schools in China have arranged Yoga programmes taking it as an opportunity to spread their message. Six cities of eastern China from Shanghai to Hangzhou and Wenzhou marked more than 30,000 people participated in events organized by the Embassy in Shanghai.

Thousands of Yoga practitioners came together in Beijing for a graceful exposition of the power of Yoga. Kaivalyadham Institute’s Yoga guru Umesh Babu leads Chinese Yogis over an elaborate routine of Asanas & Pranayam. Young Yoga Ambassadors from India showcase stunning Yoga skills, draw praise of Chinese Yoga lovers.

Earlier on Tuesday, Indian and Chinese yoga enthusiasts practiced yoga at China's iconic Great Wall on the eve of International Yoga Day. The event was jointly organized by Indian Embassy, Beijing Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC) and Yogi Yoga. Ministry of State for External Affairs, VK Singh also took part in the event. It is the first time that yoga was practiced on the great wall.

Crores of people of many countries with various levels of skills, age and nationality, and health-conscious residents laid down their mats, relaxed and communed with nature to participate in the grand celebration of World Yoga Day on Tuesday. At least 180 countries today is celebrating Yoga day including the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, United States of America etc.
