Gangtok, June 21: The spell of Yoga has left no one, as ‘East-West-North-South’ – every single corner of India is immersed under the blanket of Yoga. Not only metropolitan cities but, Gangtok joined the list too as people of Sikkim eagerly celebrated the International Yoga Day.
Minister of State for Home Affairs Kiren Rijiju celebrated International Yoga Day in Sikkim along with many people under the cooling showers of monsoon which didn’t affected any of them from celebrating World Yoga Day with passion. Rijiju said that “It's raining here at Gangtok in Sikkim but all ready for Yoga. Happy #IDY2017 #YogaDay.” Echoing the similar views of Prime Minister Modi’s views, Rijiju appealed to all the people to make ‘Yoga’ a regular part of their routine.
Minister of State for Home Affairs Kiren Rijiju expressed excitement and affection towards Yoga Day saying that “he was eager to join the people of Sikkim to celebrate Yoga Day 2017”, to this the spiritual leader Swami Ramdev Baba blessed Kiren Rijiju for his dedication towards celebrating World Yoga Day.
Also Assam Governor Banwarilal Purohit encouraged people towards adopting Yoga, he said that “Yoga is an offshoot of India’s ancient wisdom and is its greatest gift to the international community. We should all join hands to celebrate the day and reap the benefits of our ancient wisdom and ensure that we can handle our fast-paced lives in a more composed and serene way”, the Governor added.
Also in Imphal Chief Minister of Manipur N Biren Singh performed Yoga Aasanas with Minister of Human Resource Development Prakash Jawadekar along with the people of Manipur and motivated people to adopt yoga in their regular lifestyle. Sharing his experience CM N. Biren Singh said that “Yoga for health, peace in mind gave peace to self ,mean peace to all”. Prakash Jawadekar said that “It was a great pleasure to perform yoga on 3rd #InternationalYogaDay with CM @NBirenSingh & other #Yoga enthusiasts in Imphal.”
Nagaland Governor P B Acharya said that Yoga will continue to promote a healthy mind and body. Yoga is one of the most invaluable gifts of the ancient Indian tradition.Yoga embodies unity of mind and body and promotes harmony amongst the people and nature. It encourages more holistic approach towards good health and happiness. Yoga provides physical and mental wellbeing of the people.For sound health and mind; we need to incorporate Yoga as part of our daily life. Let us participate in the celebration of the Day and start a healthier lifestyle," he said.
