Bengaluru, June 23: What an era we live in where we get food, clothes, jewelry, etc at our doorstep. Many more advanced features to ease our future, one of them is – you can get ‘fuel’ home delivered. Yes and the benefits are: time savy, environment friendly and comfort at your doorstep.
A Bangalore-based start-up called ‘MyPetrolPump’ has started home delivery of petrol and diesel. MyPetrolPump is using what it calls “mini fuel refueler” vehicles to deliver the fuel to homes and business premises. It currently serves tech hubs like Koramangala and HSR Layout as well as some far-flung areas of Bangalore, like Bellandur, Bommanahalli, and BTM Layout.
Right now, MyPetrolPump takes orders only on its website, but a MyPP mobile app is in the works. It charges a flat delivery fee of INR 99 (US$1.5) for any quantity of fuel up to 100 liters. It’s a rupee per liter beyond that.
MyPetrolPump said that it doesn’t store any fuel – it picks up the ordered fuel from a nearby gas station and delivers it to the customer. MYPetrolPump claims that its refuellers are safer than the trucks and containers currently delivering liquid petroleum gas (LPG) to homes for gas stoves. “Diesel and petrol are not pressurized and are safer to transport, especially in these small quantities,” it said.
Fuel can be ordered from 6 am to 8 pm by calling them or placing an order through their app or website. The company is also working to make their service 27x7. Payment options include cash or through credit/debit cards at the time of delivery.
