Dehradun, June 26: As the Presidential elections 2017 arrives nearby; both contenders from BJP and Congress fight each other for more votes from the House. NDA candidate for Presidential election Ramnath Kovind arrived in Dehradun today to seek support of the MPs and MLAs of Uttarakhand. In a BJP led government in Uttarakhand, Kovind met all the ministers from his party and appealed them to vote for him on July 19 next month.
On Kovind’s arrival, Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat and other dignitaries of the state welcomed him at the Joligrant Airport. He was taken to the Chief Minister’s residence where he met all the BJP MPs and MLAs and extended his hand for support.
At present, there are 71 MLA’s from Vidhan Sabha, out of which 57 are from the ruling party i.e. BJP. The support from all these ministers in the Vidhan Sabha could act as a great aid for the NDA candidate Kovind.
About Ramnath Kovind:
The NDA’s strong Presidential candidate was born on October 1, 1945. He’s done B.Com and LLB from Kanpur University. By profession, he’s both a BJP politician and an advocate. He is also known as the very famous and known former BJP Dalit leader. In his long standing political career, Kovind is the current Governor of Bihar, appointed in 2015. He has a long list of achievements who has worked closely with the government since several years.
