New Delhi, June 27: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Special General Council meeting yesterday decided to implement the Lodha Committee's recommendations. BCCI's acting secretary Amitabh Chaudhary informed media persons after the Special General Meeting, SGM, in Mumbai.

Amitabh Chaudhry said the five-member committee would be appointed in two days. Amitabh said the decision is to submit a report to the five-member committee within 15 days. An age cap of 70 years has been set for committee members.

Earlier in February, The Supreme Court had taken a very strict action against BCCI chief Anurag Thankur and BCCI secretary Ajay Shirke by expelling them from their posts. The apex court has taken this decision because BCCI were not complying with its orders on implementing the Lodha Committee recommendations.

Notably, the Lodha Committee was appointed by the Supreme Court after a betting scandal in the Indian Premier League, had recommended sweeping changes in the way the board is run. But committee later said that BCCI is refusing to implement the recommendations. The board had pleaded that it cannot implement all the reforms, which include large-scale structural and management changes.
