The physical appearance, facial features are not the only parameters of beauty though society definitely lives on this idea of beauty. The inner beauty- goodness of a soul, smartness, intelligence, elegance all the traits combine the characteristics of beauty.  Based on all these parameters, the Times group organizes Miss India competition. Since last 54 years, this is considered as the most prestigious beauty pageant in India. The winner gets the chance to represent India at the international forum. This year, Manushi Chhillar from Haryana has bagged the winner award.

The 1st runner up is from Jammu and Kashmir, Sana Dua. The second runner up is is Priyanka Kumari from Bihar. The runner-up list is slightly unusual from previous years. This year, Femina Miss India also followed a new format.  A team from Times group visited 30 states of the country for state audition and state crowning.
