BJP Prez Amit Shah lambasts Puducherry CM Narayanasamy; slams for a ‘most corrupt regime’

Puducherry, June 27: Blaming the Congress-led Puducherry government for corruption, BJP national president Amit Shah on Monday said that the government of Chief Minister V. Narayanasamy is the most corrupt government he had ever seen.

Addressing the Intellectual meeting at BJP Puducherry unit under Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya Karya Vistaar Yojana, Amit Shah said: “the Center had given a much more help to the Union Territory than what Chief Minister V. Narayanasamy could accomplish when he was the Union Minister in the past UPA Government”. He stressed that “Our intention is to make Puducherry the most developed Union Territory in the country.”

While Puducherry is an urge of development Amit Shah said: “I am proud to say that India has become the fastest growing economy in the world”. People of India were not happy with the situations in the country before 2014, he added.

Further, Shah informed that BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in the last three years had increased financial support by nearly 613% to Puducherry. While listing the achievements of the NDA in the last three years at the meeting, he said Narendra Modi Government had extended the benefits under 106 schemes for all sections of people which include Dalits, youths, women, and Scheduled Tribes.

Amit Shah also stated, “The opposition cannot level any charge of corruption against the NDA. We are functioning on the basis of law”.

Meanwhile, stressing that Puducherry urgently needs an independent investigating and vigilance agency for checking corruption, Puducherry Lt Governor Dr Kiran Bedi suggested for setting up a High Court Bench for accessible Justice.

The Puducherry Lt Governor urged for setting up a CBI office in Puducherry which will be linked to the Head Office in Chennai. The High Court Bench will not only make justice accessible but also introduce fear of the law.

Dr Kiran Bedi also asked to hold early civic polls which will ensure grass root democracy, most of all rural development and youth leaderships.

Amit Shah is on his two days official visit to Puducherry from Monday as part of his 110-day nationwide tour held a series of meetings to highlight the achievements of Modi Government in the last three years.

Earlier on his first day of the visit, Amit Shah participated in a motorcycle rally that went through various parts of the city and garlanded the statue of Subramaniya Bharathi near the Raj Nivas. Subramaniya Bharathi was an Indian writer, poet and journalist, and Indian independence activist and social reformer from Tamil Nadu.
