Govt to support if the Tripura Govt comes up with good projects: Dr Harshvardhan

Agartala (Tripura), June 3: To highlight the completion of 3 years of NDA government at the Centre, the function was organized in Agartala, Tripura yesterday evening. The function was attended by Union Science & Technology Minister Dr. Harshvardhan.

While talking to media after the event, Dr. Harshvardhan highlighted about enormous successes in various programmes and schemes adopted by the present government. He added that the development of North East region is the top most priority for Modi Government.

According to Minister, the present National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government is focusing on the development and research in science and technology and innovations. He even informed that for such development government the budget has boosted by 60 to 63% in last three years.

Dr. Harshvardhan further informed that the government has already spent 10% of total budget for North East region, especially in the biotechnology sector. “Projects like ‘Jigyasa’ had been planned to support students to get involved more in Science subjects and Incubation in Biotechnology, etc have opened up to a larger segment of students community”, he added.

Expressing his distress, Minister informed that the Tripura government shows the least interest in science related projects and still promised that the ministry will fully support if the state government comes up with good projects.

On his visit to Tripura, he had attended various programmes organized by the state unit of BJP in different parts of the state.
