Itanagar, June 30: Arunachal, the largest state in the North East will get hygienic toilets for all households in the state'. The Arunachal government is collaborating with the 'Sulabh International' the globally reclaimed organisation for this giant task.
Hong village located in Ziro valley of Arunachal Pradesh has been selected for the first pilot project.
Bamang Felix, Minister of Water Security and Public Health Engineering, along with Inspector General of Police Robin Hibu met 'Sulabh' founder Dr Bindeswar Pathak on theiGeneral to Sulabh International Centre on Thursday.
Dr Pathak informed that the survey has been done of Hong Village by a team of Sulabh International and is in the final stage for implementation. He added that the Hong Village will be cleaned soon and the endeavours will be building toilets at poorest household with the addition to constructing the all-weather hygienic toilet at Kasturba Gandhi Ashram and at Community Centre cum Hong Badminton Hall very.
Under the initiative of Sulabh International reach out a programme for vulnerable and poor villagers, he further requested Dr Pathak for phase-wise cleaning up of unhygienic villages by constructed toilets of international standard for poor villagers underneath the CSR schemes in Arunachal.
The Water Security Minister asked the International NGO to train state PHE officials and sanitary officials on latest development for hygienic toilets in remote areas.
