Manipur police busted illegal arms manufacturing unit in Imphal

 Imphal, June 9: On Thursday Manipur police busted a ‘gun manufacturing unit’ at Langol Game Village Zone-1 in Imphal West district. The main leader who used to run the manufacturing unit was also arrested by the police.

Police verification said that the Yangkholet Haokip, aged 28 was from Kangpokpi district, a person who used to run the gun manufacturing unit at his present residence. The police after getting the information from the source, rushed to the area where the unit was running and segregated off before a search operation was carried out this afternoon.

The police claimed that the two nations made guns or pistols, some parts of country-made gun, equipment and tools utilized as a part of making the nation made guns, one receipt book containing 100 pamphlets, four empty cases, one computer set utilized for printing underground demand letters and receipt books, one seal with the print ‘Terrorist Revolutionary Army’, 97 ‘demand letters’ and two seals with ‘T. R. A’ was seized from the residence of Yangkholet Haokip.

The police also claimed that the computer set owner was also seized by them. The computer set owner was Khunjamayum Dayananda Singh; aged 41 was from Thoubal Haokha Leikai, Thiubal district. Khunjamayum Dayananda Singh used to run printing shop at New Checkon in Imphal.
