New Delhi, July 10: In order to fine tune the communication between taxpayers and Income Tax Department Finance Minister Arun Jaitley today launched the Aaykar Setu app, a user-friendly income tax payer e-service module for hassle free transactions.
Speaking on the occasion, Union Minister Arun Jaitley said that with this technological intervention government is trying to reduce the physical interface between assessees and the tax assessing authorities. He further mentioned that this income tax application would reduce harassment of common man.
The minister also unveiled the desktop version of Aaykar Setu along with Android version. This integrated application compiles various tax tools, live chat facility, dynamic updates, and important links to various processes on a single platform.
According to officials of Income Tax Department, the taxpayers will be able to receive regular updates regarding important tax dates, forms, and notifications on mobile numbers registered with the ITD. All taxpayers who wish to receive such SMS alerts should register their mobile numbers in the Aaykar Setu module.
