Chennai, July 10: Recounting the success of S S Rajamauli’s magnum opus Baahubali, young director Nag Ashwin said that Baahubali franchise with its stupendous performance has shattered all the established notions about the regional cinema and its reach.
Speaking to the media Ashwin said that Baahubali was a very well planned franchise with a unique style of Marketing. Expressing his views about the future of regional cinema he said, “If Hollywood films can work in India, why can’t Telugu films work outside Telugu states? language is a superficial barrier” he added. Elaborating further the director said that Rajamauli’s Baahubali has broken all the language barrier which connotes the significance of the content.
Bahubali: The Beginning was the first dubbed Hindi film to have earned over Rs 100 crore at the box office. The second part in the franchise minted over Rs 500 crore in Hindi. Bahubali franchise is the biggest grossing Indian film with combined earnings of over Rs 2000 crore.
