New Delhi, July 10: Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi is once again muddled with the new controversy after meeting with Chinese Envoy on Saturday, while the Congress party had dismissed reports of Rahul Gandhi’s meeting with Chinese ambassador.

According to Media reports, Chinese embassy on Sunday first posted meeting details then removed a statement from its official website around noon after the news was denied by the Congress party.

Congress spokesperson Randeep Singh Surjewala, in a series of tweets said some news channels were running "fake news" on Rahul's alleged meeting with the Chinese Ambassador. He alleged that the report was planted by external affairs ministry and intelligence bureau sources.

Meanwhile, On Friday, Rahul had tweeted asking why Prime Minister Narendra Modi is silent on China. The Congress renewed its attack on the issue on Monday.

Bilateral relationship between India and China further strained over the last week as border troops of both the countries engaged in a standoff in the Donglang region. Located near the Sikkim border, Doklam is controlled by China, but Bhutan also asserts claim to the region.
