Maharashtra steps forward to boost employment and create more opportunities for women

Mumbai, July 12: Maharashtra is about to welcome Rs.900 Crores of investment as Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis inked a MoU with Walmart, an American Multinational Retailing Corporation. This Memorandum of Understanding aims to generate employment opportunities in Maharashtra.

Maharashtra government and Walmart came together which aims to generate 3000 jobs in Maharashtra.

Also to boost women empowerment, Letter of Understanding was exchanged between Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and United Nations Development Program UNDP, Skill Development and Godrej and Boyce. This Letter of Understanding aims to foster opportunities for employment and entrepreneurship for women in India. The Letter of Understanding has been endorsed by the Department of Economic Affairs and the Centre itself.

This Letter of Understanding also includes activities of mobilisation, career guidance, counselling, skill training & placements and capacity building for women.

After the MoUs were signed and the letters were exchanged CM Fadnavis launched Godrej Mangroves app. Godrej Mangrove app is solely dedicated to guide regarding various mangroves and learn about mangrove ecosystem.
