Bhubaneswar, July 13: Haj House in Odisha, Isn’t this the good news for Islam followers? Today, the Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik announced of setting up Haj House in Bhubaneswar. This initiative aims to promote the welfare of the people belonging to the minority communities.
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today announced setting up the Haj House in the city very soon. Construction will begin soon on the land near Pokhariput area.
Stating that his government is committed to the welfare of people belonging to minority communities during a felicitation ceremony for Haj pilgrims from the State today, the CM said 100 other multipurpose community centres will also be set up for the benefit of the minority community.
Besides, the government is also considering establishing direct plane communication between Bhubaneswar and Mecca for the welfare of pilgrims, he said. CM felicitated Haj pilgrims from Odisha who are set to go for Haj Pilgrimage to Mecca in Saudi Arabia this year.
Patnaik wished a safe and smooth journey of 688 Haj pilgrims including 200 women. While the state government has been trying to have an embarkation point in the city airport, Patnaik said all arrangement has been made for the Haj pilgrims this time at Kolkata airport.
"The state government has sanctioned Rs 5 Crore for the development of educational institutions meant for minority community children. This apart, the government will construct 100 multi-purpose centres for Muslim people in next three years," Patnaik said.
