Moscow, July 12: Russia-India relation is free of any political fluctuations and stays at a stable position. After Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley Sumitra Mahajan, Speaker of Lok Sabha has visited Moscow. There she led a delegation of Members of Parliament of India to Russia for 4th India-Russia Inter-Parliamentary Commission. In bilateral discussions, trade, economic, cultural cooperation were discussed.
The increasing cooperation between the Parliaments of both the countries through the creation of India-Russia Friendship Groups has been emphasized. The Young Parliamentarians are encouraged to meet each other including through the new Speaker’s Research Initiative created in India.
The world is facing an increasing threat of terrorism. On Tuesday in Anantnag, the terrorist attack hit pilgrims where innocent people were killed. In her address to Speaker of the State Duma, she said, “It is essential that the world comes together to face the increasing threat of terrorism in a decisive and collective manner without any double standards. All countries will have to work together to disrupt terrorist networks, cutting off their funding, and prohibiting cross-border movement.”
She has also concentrated on the reform of United Nations Security Council to tackle contemporary challenges and threats in an effective manner. She thanked Russia for its strong support for India’s candidature for a permanent seat in the expanded Security Council.
