New Delhi, July 17: Slamming state government for transferring D Roopa, former Karnataka chief minister and Member of Parliament B.S. Yeddyurappa said that instead of taking strong action on Roopa's report the state government has transferred her. Taking a post-shot on incumbent Chief Minister Siddaramaiah Yeddyurappa stated that there is no space for honest officers under Congress rule.
Speaking to the media Yeddyurappa said, "Nobody could have imagined that such things were happening in the jail. And instead of taking action on the police officers report and put a halt on the illegal business going inside the jail, she has been transferred,”
Earlier officer D Roopa submitted a report to the Director General (Prisons) H.N. Satyanarayana Rao mentioning about the recent the irregularities in the central prison. Later she was transferred to the traffic department as the Inspector General of Police and Commissioner of Traffic and Road Safety. The Karnataka Chief Minister has ordered a high-level inquiry into the matter.
