Rayagada, July 16: Not only Northeastern states but also Odisha is suffering from the heavy rain that triggered flash floods in parts of Rayagada and Kalahandi districts in Odisha on Sunday. Now the flood situation in these districts has improved slightly this morning as river Kalyani and Nagavali start receding.
Due to continuous rains, on Sunday the water level of Nagabali and Kalyani Rivers rose and many places of Kalyansinghpur block in Rayagada district and Kalahandi district have been marooned in rain water.

Headquarters Eastern Naval Command deployed 42C helicopter for distribution of relief material in flood affected areas of the state for High Availability Disaster Recovery in Odisha.
Chief Minister of Odisha Naveen Patnaik stated, “closely monitoring flood situation; every effort being made to reach the affected with food, medicines and supplies”.
Indian Metals and Ferro Alloys also extended helping hand for flood victims and hand over Rs 10 lakh cheque to Rayagada Collector of Odisha.
Concerning about the flood situation, Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu informed, “Had a discussion with concerned on the flood situation in Odisha. We will do all that's possible for relief and rehabilitation, ensure regularity soon”.
