Gandhinagar, July 2: With an idea that the current age is a golden era for the development of textile industry, 65 Memorandum of Understandings (MoU) were signed in the textile sectors. MoUs were signed between various domestic and international organisations from industry and government.
The three of the 65 signed MoUs are Government-to-Government (G2G) MoUs. The MoUs were signed on Saturday, the 2nd day of the three-day mega textiles trade fair of Textiles India 2017 which is being held in Gandhinagar, Gujarat. The MoUs signed relating to the exchange of information and documentation, Research and Development, commercialization of handloom products and silk production, cooperation in Geotextiles, skill development, the supply of cotton and trade promotion with overseas partners, etc.
The signing of the 65MoUs was witnessed by Union Textiles Minister Smriti Zubin Irani and Textiles State Minister Ajay Tamta.
Addressing the event, the Textiles Minister Smriti Irani said that the commitment of the Government of India in promoting the sector. She also affirmed that many Union Ministers will be attending Textiles India 2017 on the 3rd and final day of the mega event. Adding the point she stated, “We are a Nation ready to explore new horizons”.
