New Delhi, July 24: After Samajwadi Party, Former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu E. Panneerselvam today called on National Democratic Alliance Vice Presidential Candidate M. Venkaiah Naidu and extended his support to NDA ahead of the crucial election of Vice President.
Speaking to the media E. Panneerselvam said, “As soon as the BJP named Venkaiah Naidu as its vice presidential candidate, the AIADMK extended its support to him. Now, we have come here to meet him and reiterate our support,”
Naidu also thanked E. Panneerselvam led AIADMK faction for backing his candidature. “I am happy they are the first party to make an announcement of extending support to my candidature. I am thankful to them and their party,” Naidu said. The Vice Presidential election is scheduled on August 5.
Earlier O Panneerselvam called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and sought his intervention on various issues such. As reported by Time of India, the former chief minister has conveyed his concerns on the issue on ONGC's hydro carbon extraction plant in Neduvasal and the company's oil wells in Kathiramangalam where Local are protesting against the project. He also sought exemption of Tamil Nadu students from the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test.
