Punjab CM offers the DSP post to ‘knight of blue brigade’ Harmanpreet Kaur

Chandigarh, July 24: Cricket has been always popular in this country but when it comes to Women’s Cricket, the fans could barely name any Cricketers from Women’s team. But this 2017 ICC World Cup has changed the scenario. Though “Women in Blue” has failed to bring the Winner’s trophy but they have won the heart of thousands of lakhs. Harmanpreet Kaur, one knight of this brigade has been offered the post of DSP in Punjab Police by PM Amarinder Singh. She has been recommended for a promotion to the Mumbai Division of Western Railway where she is currently employed.

The star cricketer has helped Indian team to reach this milestone and made everyone proud.  Harmanpreet’s score of 171 not out of 115 balls in the semi-final has helped India to reach the tournament final. Amarinder said the young girl had done Punjab proud with her superb performance. She helped the team to give a tight fight to the opponent, England.

As per media reports, this bright lady was denied to join the Punjab Police some years ago. The CM has said he earnestly wants to correct earlier decisions taken by Badal Government. He also announced a Rs 5 lakh cash award for the cricketer.

In our country, many talents can’t make success due to lack of attention. Punjab government wants to promote them properly. It would also review sports policy to accommodate sportspersons in government jobs.

Harmandar Singh, father of Harmanpreet Kaur has thanked Punjab CM for such honor. The happy father is proud because of her star daughter.
