New Delhi, July 24: In order to boost tourism infrastructure of Telangana, Tourism Minister Dr Mahesh Sharma while talking in Lok Sabha said that the central government has sanctioned Rs.180 Crore in the newly created Telangana.
While addressing, Sharma said that government has sanctioned 63 projects including Eco Circuit, Ramayana circuit, Coastal circuit and Wildlife Circuit for 5000 Crore under the Swadesh Darshan scheme. Dr Sharma said the government has included Pandharpur in Maharashtra under its Ramayana circuit and a scheme is under consideration to develop places associated with Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in Maharashtra to attract tourists.
Further, the Minister also said that for the development of tourism infrastructure in the country, Ministry has launched two schemes in 2014-15 Swadesh Darshan and Integrated development of theme based tourists’ circuits and PRASAD (Pilgrimage Rejuvenation and Spiritual Augmentation Drive).
Under PRASAD scheme, 25 religious sites have been identified for development in the country namely including Amaravati, Ayodhya, Deoghar, Puri and Somnath among others.
