Nairobi, July 25: The situation in Africa is concerning leaders worldwide as the humanitarian situation gradually going downwards. Though in some West African countries the political situation has developed still UN Security Council expressed concern over the threat of terrorism in the region.  Book Haram is one of the main sources of all hostilities in the region.

“The Security Council strongly condemns all terrorist attacks carried out in the region, in particular in Northern and Central Mali and the Lake Chad Basin region, notably by Boko Haram and Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant (ISIL),” said the Security Council President Liu Jiey.

The victims are innocent civilians. Without any reason, they pay their lives for just living in the region. The Council has encouraged member states to support Multinational Joint Task Force for collectively combating Boko Haram.

“The Security Council notes the collaboration undertaken between UNOWAS (UN Office in West Africa and the Sahel ) and the Peacebuilding Commission and encourages continued close and effective cooperation in support of sustainable peace in the region,” the statement stated.
