Mumbai, July 27: Mumbaikars woke up to the grave incidence when the building in Ghatkopar fell and claimed at least 17 lives. To this, the Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis announced that all buildings in Mumbai that are over 30 years old will undergo a structural audit, and ward officers will be made responsible for the job.
CM Fadnavis also said that the issues raised regarding the permissions for repair works would be provided within a day.
Further, he also informed that after discussions with BMC Commissioner Ajoy Mehta, it had been decided that if an application for repair work provides the certificate from an RCC consultant or an authorized architect, permission would be given within 24 hours.
Fadnavis announced that building permission process in all the municipal corporations would be made online.
The CM also informed that the new development plan of Mumbai would have a separate provision for the redevelopment of dilapidated buildings.
