New Delhi, July 27: Congress leader and former Delhi CM Sheila Dikshit's son Sandeep Dikshit has been slammed with an FIR for badmouthing Indian Army and Army chief Gen Bipin Rawat. The case has been filed by a Lucknow resident named Shivram Mohan Nigam.
Dikshit had said that Army Chief Gen Bipin Rawat gives statements like a 'sadak ka goonda' (goon on the street). Dikshit had faced massive criticism for his words. Also Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi even said the comments made by the party leader were wrong.
After strong opposition from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Sandeep Dikshit, son of former Delhi chief minister Sheila Dikshit said, "I have reservations on a comment of the Army Chief but I should have chosen appropriate words. I apologise."
Ours is not a mafia army like the Pakistani army which makes statements like the goons on the street. It looks bad when our Army chief gives a statement like a 'sadak ka goonda' (goon on the street)," the former Congress MP had said.
