Nightclub shooting in Germany witnesses one dead, 4 injured

Berlin, July 30: Germany witnesses public shooting yet again after a week again. A gunman opened fire at the packed-out grey nightclub in the city of Konstanz which is close to the Swiss border. The shooting took place in the early hours of the morning. Two have been killed in the incident while four other have been seriously injured.
The nightclub held a student night at the time of the incident. The suspect, believed to be a 34-year-old Iraqi man, was seriously injured in a gunfight with police officers outside the venue as he attempted to flee at around 4.30am local time. He later died in the hospital.
During the gunfire with the suspect, one police officer has suffered serious injuries. Meanwhile, special commando forces and a helicopter have been deployed to the area. Police are suspecting of other accomplices of the attacker.
An eyewitness said : "He opened fired and shot randomly. The nightclub was packed. I guess several hundred people were there." According to a club patron, partygoers trapped inside the club during the attack were not allowed to leave for up to two hours as police worked to secure the scene. Officials said he was an Islamist known to security forces and was psychologically unstable.
