Bishkek, July 4: India A team including Pankaj Advani and Laxman Rawat on Monday advanced to the quarterfinals of the Asian Team Snooker Championship which is being held in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan. Notably, India A registered a comprehensive win over Iran B to enter into knock-out round.

India’s rising star Pankaj Advani has won all his individual matches so far in the team event. After winning the match, Advani said, "It is good to start on a winning note in the knockout stages as it acts as a confidence booster, a necessity in tournaments of this level."

Earlier, India A team defeated Qatar easily by 3-0. On the other side, India B, consisting of Dharmender Lilly and Sandeep Gulati, however, failed in both the group matches, going down to Hong Kong and Iran A 0-3.

Unfortunately, this resulted in India B getting eliminated from the championship. The quarterfinals will be held tomorrow. Pankaj Advani also entered into the pre-quarterfinals of the Asian Snooker Championship which was held in April 2016.
