Mumbai July 5: Underlining the importance of conservation of environment Renowned Industrialist and Chairman of Mahindra group Anand Mahindra said, “We have forgotten that our survival depends on maintaining a fine ecological balance that allows us to enjoy further growth. But at Mahindra, we haven't forgotten that". He was speaking at an event to mark the plantation of the 13 millionth tree under the Mahindra Haryali scheme.
Hailing the ongoing tree plantation drive by Maharashtra government under the leadership of Devendra Fadnavis Mahindra said, “Macron, after coming to power, had said 'It's not about making France great again but making the planet great again.” He further mentioned that young Chief Minister is following the set of values presented by President Emmanuel Macron.
Criticizing US President Donald Trump for rejecting the Paris Climate Change agreement, Annand Mahindra stated that policies adopted by Trump Administration will have to face the disastrous consequences in coming years. “Americans have forgotten that the country wants leaders with vision, people with good intent, President Trump thinks what he is doing is in his country's interest. He thinks he is saving US companies.”
Briefing about the future plans of state government Chief Minister Fadnavis said, "We have experienced drought and that is man-made. We will plant four crore trees this year”. He also informed that Maharashtra has 21% forest cover and in coming five years’ government will try to achieve the goal of 33%.
