New Delhi, July 6: Amidst the crowd of crazy Cricket fans, Indians often forget the other games. Since a time, Football was very much ignored. But the Football players never stopped making the place better in the world Football map. Winning 12 games of last 14 in International Football has helped Indian team to reach best FIFA ranking in last 2 decades. The ranking has climbed up to 96, the 2nd best in the Football history.

The current rating point of India is 341. Among the Asian continents, India is in 12th position. 2 years ago, when Stephen Constantine took charge of the team, India was ranked 171st in the world. "I had mentioned that my target was to bring India below 100. I am happy to have played a small part in this process.", he commented on the success.

Back in 1996, India achieved its best position- 94. The last rank list which was published in June placed India at 1200 position. Since then India has won the two matches. This is a “giant leap of faith for Indian football”, as All India Football Federation President Praful Patel said.

The Indian coach has reminded that “the present FIFA spot doesn’t mean that we have achieved much. We need to stay focused on the upcoming challenges.”

Despite all facts, it is a major boost for Indian football team. Since the creation of the Rank list, India has been averaging at the 134th rank.
