Patna, July 6: While cutting Rahul Gandhi and Nitish Kumar’s name, RJD Chief Lalu Prasad Prasad said, Priyanka Gandhi should lead Mahagatbandhan in 2019 general elections on Wednesday.
Talking to reporters, RJD leader asked opposition parties to come on a single platform to stop BJP led NDA government at the centre in next elections. He also said, if BSP leader Mayawati and SP leader Akhilesh Yadav come together it would be very difficult for BJP to come into power.

The RJD chief reiterated his support for Meira Kumar, the Opposition presidential candidate. He said “Meira is well qualified and the daughter of Jagjivanbabu. She comes from a caste which is a Scheduled Caste all over India and Kovind is not a Dalit, his Koli caste is on the OBC in Gujarat.”
Earlier, In a sharp attack against his Bihar ally, JD(U) national president and Bihar CM Nitish Kumar said that it was the Congress alone, which was responsible for the current mess in the Opposition. He said that it was because of the Congress' recalcitrance that they could not have an alliance in UP and Assam. He accused the Congress of not taking JD(U) into confidence for the presidential polls.
