Kolkata, 9 July: West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee who was till yesterday blaming Central government for the communal violence in her state, who hesitate to control the radical Islamist goons who attacked Hindus, has started face saving programme by making  Superintendent of Police of North 24 Parganas district Bhaskar Mukherjee a scapegoat fearing the public outrage both in West Bengal and the nation. After remaining a silent spectator when the Islamic goons were destabilising the social fabric, now CM mamata has announced a Judicial inquiry commission headed by retired HC judge Soumitra Pal to probe Basirhat violence.

SP Bhaskar Mukherjee has been suspended for the Basirhat and Baduria violence. Unfortunately, this has sent an alarming signal in the minds of on-duty Police personnel who are already being attacked by both Islamic radicals and the TMC goons. Another message of this act of Mamata is for the Islamist who are out creating an atrocious atmosphere in Bengal.

Unfortunately, last some days saw a hapless the West Bengal government machinery and administration overpowered by the Islamic goons who created a horrible situation for the common man citing a Facebook post by a Hindu kid. A mob of 2000 Muslims attacked police stations and demanded handing over the Hindu boy to punish him with a Sharia law. Mamata Banerjee's policy of Muslim appeasement has not only created repulsion amongst the Hindus in WB but the radical Islamist goons are on rampage to hound Hindus and attack the Hindu areas with a clear message to vacate the land and property with an another clear strategy to occupy Hindu areas and create an exclusive Islamic zones for the Muslims.

The boy was later arrested by police. Addressing the media on Saturday, Banerjee said that strict action will be taken against those responsible, adding that the state government has blacklisted two religious groups.

It was amusing to see a Chief Minister accusing Centre of the Law and Order situation in her own State. Law and Order situation is solely the responsibility of the State and the Chief Minister. But Mamata, who herself on a rampage of accusing others of anything worst happening about West Bengal.

The fresh tension was reported in Basirhat area on Friday forcing police to lob teargas shells and resort to baton charge even as the state government decided to ban some organisations for provoking people. In the face of communal violence, Superintendent of Police of North 24 Parganas district Bhaskar Mukherjee was removed from his post from Basirhat also, ten IPS officers have also been removed. Now C. Sudhakar Rao will join as the new Superintendent of Police in West Bengal.

Earlier, Trinamool Congress (TMC) MLA Dipendu Biswas was removed as the in-charge of West Bengal’s Basirhat area where clash broke out over a social media post last week. Following the clash-heavy security forces were deployed in and around the area to ward off violence.

Meanwhile, the Legal Rights Observatory has lodged a complaint with the National Human Rights Commission against the West Bengal Police for violating Freedom of Expression & denying Right to Protest of Raj Lahiri, Sanjoy Goswamy and others by arresting them during #Baduria riot protests.
