Lucknow, July 9: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath holds deliberations of preparations and management of the Prayag Ardh Kumbh-2019 with head of the All-India Akhada Parishad on his residence.

During the meeting, Yogi Adityanath assured the head of the Akhada Parishad, Allahabad Mahant Narendra Giri that the state Government was seriously committed to ensuring all facilities and fool-proof security for domestic and foreign visitors to the Ardh Kumbh in 2019 so that there is no inconvenience to them.

All the arrangements would be in place in time, Yogi further said. He expressed the desire to meet all the office bearers of the Akhada Parishad at the earliest.

The meeting was with regards to the preparations for the the Prayag Ardh Kumbh-2019. Providing this information, a State Government spokesman informed that the Chief Minister and Mahant Giri held wide ranging and detailed deliberations on the successful organization of the mega religious event. 

The history of Kumbh mela is as old as the creation of the universe legends. Kumbh Mela is celebrated four times every 12 years, the site of the observance rotating between four pilgrimage places on four sacred rivers: at Haridwar on the Ganges river, at Ujjain on the Shipra, at Nasik on the Godavari, and at Allahabad on the confluence of the Ganges, Yamuna and the mythical river Sarasvati.

A sacred bath at a predetermined time and place is the major event of this auspicious mela. Legends has it that by taking a dip in the holy Ganges on this event, one can be freed from all the sins of life. Some say it is the direct way to attain Moksha.
