Anganwadi centres all over Haryana soon to be electrified with Solar Power

Chandigarh, August 10: Anganwadi centers play very important role in primary education in India but in some states, the centers face different issues. Haryana Anganwadi centers to be connected to solar power in a phased manner as a solution to electricity problems the centers face.

All 25,962 Anganwadi centers will come under the instruction. “The government would spend about Rs16 crore on this project in the first phase. During this, two fans and three lights would soon be connected with solar energy in 9500 Anganwadi centers,” said Haryana Women and Child Development Minister Kavita Jain.

Many times ambiance of the Anganwadi centers is questioned. Children read in misery without basic amenities. If the centers get basic amenities, children would be more attracted to join the schools. In the first phase, Anganwadi centers which are being run in government buildings would be connected with solar power.

Haryana Women and Child Development Ministry instructed the officers of the Department and HAREDA to consider technical aspects soon for the early start of the project. The state government will spend 16 crores in the 1st phase. 2 fans and 3 lights have been allocated for 9500 Anganwadi centers.
