Kolkata, August 10: The ruling party of West Bengal Trinamool Congress is devastated with various scams. Sarada and Narada financial scams hit TMC badly before 2016 Bidhansavha election. Many top level TMC leaders including Mayor of Kolkata Sovan Chatterjee were alleged of taking a bribe from a journalist. The investigation is going on in Narada case. On Thursday Kolkata Mayor appeared before Enforcement Directorate(ED) office.

TMC leaders are somehow avoiding ED summons showing various reasons. They have been questioned why they are avoiding investigation if they are right. Sovan Chatterjee is the second minister to appear in ED office after Bobi Hakim who appeared on Wednesday.

In the leaked footage it was clearly shown Sovan is taking a bribe from Mathu Samuel. ED was supposed to question where he spent this money. He skipped previous ED Summon in July citing “administrative reason”.

Finally, in Thursday morning, he reached ED office. "He has come to our office for an interrogation relating to Narada sting probe," an Enforcement Directorate (ED) official said.

Two other TMC legislators Subrata Mukherjee and Suvendu Adhikari- in connection with the same case were also sent multiple notices. Along with ED, CBI is also conducting an investigation of the case as per Calcutta High Court and Supreme Court directions.
