Srinagar, August 10: With an aim to review security system in the valley, Northern Army Commander Lt Gen D Anbu along with Chinar Corps Commander Lt Gen JS Sandhu visited South Kashmir. Both the top ranked commander was briefed on all aspects of security and operational preparedness in Kashmir.
Both the top Army Commanders including Lt Gen D Anbu and Lt Gen JS Sandhu appreciated all the measures taken by security forces to meet any challenge and also complimented the troops for the recent successful counter militant operations.
The Army Commander exhorted the security personnel and troops to keep up the pressure on the terrorists in Kashmir and appreciated the synergy being shown amongst all security agencies and complimented the troops for undertaking operations with firmness and resolve. Both the Army Commanders also encouraged the soldiers deployed in the Valley to continue utmost vigil and operational focus and assured full support for their endeavours.
However, the review of a security system in the valley by both the top commanders came just two hours before Indian troops eliminated three terrorists belonged to Hizbul Mujahideen in Gulab Bagh area of Tral in South Kashmir. Interestingly, Indian troops have done a commendable job in eliminating terrorism from Kashmir and had killed over 100 terrorists in one year.
