Darjeeling, August 11: Gorkha Janmukti Morcha’s indefinite strike is going to touch two-month time span just after three days. In this long time span, Morcha leaders deliberately avoided any direct contact with state government. Taking a reverse turn on the 57th day of strike Morcha general secretary Roshan Giri says that they expect an official invitation from the state government to discuss.
Morcha expected more support from the center. But their violent agitation was not at all appreciated by the center. Realizing this now Morcha wants to sit with the government.
Due to the scarcity of food, ongoing turmoil, loss in several industries local people are also losing their faith on Morcha. Even schools could not start their education sessions properly. The three Mocha youth who are doing a hunger strike their health is also deteriorating. Hence Morcha is feeling immense pressure now.
Tourism Minister of Bengal Gautam Deb has said Morcha leaders can directly tell they want a discussion. If they withdraw strike, a discussion would be started soon.
