Notice to Snapdeal, India Mart for online trading of wildlife products

Bhopal, August 12: The Madhya Pradesh State Level Tiger Strike Force has served notices to Snapdeal, India Mart, Wish and Buy and Craft Comparison companies for selling wild life ingredients on their online trading portal.

Madhya Pradesh government said that a case has been registered against all the accused under the Wild Life Protection Act. During the investigation they have confessed that they are trading in these wild life ingredients through 4 websites.


The cases of wild life ingredients had come to the fore earlier also. But now it has changed its form because of the new methods like online sale. Cases were registered against such crime in Delhi, Andhra Pradesh and Odisha by the Wild Life Crime Control Bureau in the past.

Companies have been told to remove all the contents related to wild life ingredients and its sale immediately. Moreover, the companies have been told to clarify why an action should not be initiated against them owing to their involvement in trade of wild life ingredients.

Minister for Forest Dr. Gourishankar Shejwar has appealed to the people to stay away from these kinds of superstition. Spread awareness among the people. Possession of wild life ingredients, its trade and use is crime. It may be mentioned that the Indore unit of Tiger Strike Force has confiscated products namely Hatthajodi and Siyar Singi made up of wild life limbs from the premises of Shubh Bhakti company situated at Vijay Nagar area of Indore on June. During the investigation, accused have confessed that they trade pooja material through their company and sell the products on higher prices.
