Nobody will be spared for Gorakhpur tragedy: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath

Gorakhpur, Aug 13: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Union Health Minister J.P. Nadda today took the stock of the ground situation of the Baba Raghav Das (BRD) Medical College where 60 children died in five days. Earlier, Minister of State for Health Anupriya Patel and Health Secretary C.K. Mishra also visited the hospital to look into the lapses in the BRD Medical College.

Briefing about the development, Yogi Adityanath said that state government is waiting for the report of the probe and nobody will be spared. He further stated that if any death is caused by the negligence of the hospital authorities then the government would take the strongest action against the concern.

Speaking to the media Union Health Minister J.P. Nadda announced that Centre has approved Rs 85 crore for setting up a central Viral Research Centre in Gorakhpur. "The research center will be set up in Gorakhpur to help in finding out the real problems of the vector borne diseases in the areas of eastern UP and will help in finding a permanent solution, " said Nadda.

The principal of Ambedkar Nagar Medical College, PK Jain has been given the additional charge of BRD Hospital after the Sacking of Dr. Rajeev Mishra.
