Hyderabad, August 17: With an intention to uproot Measles and Rubella, today Telangana rolled out the Measles and Rubella campaign which will provide the vaccination to around 70 lakh children between 9 months and 15 years. Measles and Rubella campaign will continue till 25th September.
The Measles and Rubella campaign also carried out an awareness rally to educate the people about measles and rubella diseases. The disease is usually spread through a cough and sneezing. If the pregnant women are affected by the disease, the newborn will get vision and hearing problems, brain- and heart-related problems. So, everyone should administer the vaccine to their children without failing, he appealed.
State Health Minister Dr Lakshma Reddy has formally launched the campaign at Rajbhavan School. He appealed to parents of children below 15 years and teachers to ensure their children vaccinated against these two diseases. Sufficient stocks of vaccine have been kept at all primary health centres and Anganwadis.
