Let this Diwali be pollution free; “Harit Diwali, Swasth Diwali” campaign launched

New Delhi, August 18: Whereas Deepawali signifies the victory of good over evil ironically every year the evil pollution comes along celebration in Diwali. The excitement of firing cracker gifts air and sound pollution. To make this Diwali pure and healthy Environment Minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan launched the “Harit Diwali, Swasth Diwali” campaign. As Children do any work with the highest effort, he urged the children to be a part of this mission. 

Environments Minister impressed upon the children to celebrate this year’s Diwali by not buying fire crackers and instead buy a gift, food items, or sweets for the poor and underprivileged children living in their locality.

A pledge administered by Environment Minister has been requested to administer the said Pledge during their school assembly up to Diwali. As a part of the campaign, the Environment Ministry will undertake various activities to create awareness among various stakeholders and encourage people to participate in combating air pollution.

Last time after Diwali the pollution level in Delhi reached such a level that the government had to declare an emergency situation. Closing down of schools, construction sites, and power stations was really bad for the socio-economic situation.

In addition to that, in October India will be hosting FIFA U-17 World Cup. Hence authority wants to ensure that there is no inconvenience caused by the conduct of the event. This is a matter of India’s pride.
