Textile Minister Smriti Irani with Jharkhand CM Raghubar Das inaugurate 2nd phase of ‘Momentum Jharkhand’

Ranchi, August 19: Momentum Jharkhand that kick started this year has already started making business worth millions. With the initiative, Jharkhand is focusing on sectors like automobiles, energy infrastructure, tourism, textile and many others. To celebrate the second phase of ‘Momentum Jharkhand’, Textile Minister Smriti Irani will be the chief guest of the event in Bistupur, Jharkhand.
Irani inaugurated Jharkhand’s first textiles manufacturing and export unit ‘Orient Craft Ltd’ in Ranchi alongside state Chief Minister Raghubar Das today. Speaking at the event, Irani complimented Das’s work on the lines of development of the state. She said, “CM Das has worked hard towards this sector. One day, Jharkhand will stand as the 1st biggest textile market.” Currently, Jharkhand produces an annual production of nearly 1,200 metric tonnes of tasar silk alone and shares 62% share in the total market production of the entire country.
Taking forward the state towards the road to development, CM Das said at the event, “2-3 million people are going to be allocated jobs in the textile sector. Textile sector will be the hub of Jharkhand. The whole idea behind developing the textile sector was Prime Minister Narendra Modi. We will together make sure that nobody has to go out of the state to receive jobs. We will create employment.”
In 4 months, 900 people were given employment in the manufacturing unit of the textile sector. The second phase of the ‘Momentum Jharkhand’ will bring upon more employment and development to the state, as promised by CM Raghubar Das.
